कप्तान धौनी गेंदबाजी को लेकर अपनी चिंता व्यक्त कर चुके हैं और इस मैच में भारतीय गेंदबाजों खासतौर पर तेज गेंदबाजों को अपना प्रदर्शन सुधारना होगा। गेंदबाजों को ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ अभ्यास मैच में अपनी धार को तेज कर लेना होगा, क्योंकि धौनी ये पहले ही कह चुके हैं कि इस ट्रॉफी में वे मुख्य मुकाबलों में माहौल के अनुसार तेज गेंदबाजों को अधिक मौका देना चाहते हैं।
